The City of Detroit has completed the E. Warren Streetscape Project in the Fall of 2023.
The City of Detroit has completed the East Warren Streetscape between 3 Mile Drive and Cadieux on Fall 2023. This project new pedestrian crossings, landscaping, shortening crossing distances, and improving traffic calming measures.
What Changes Happened?
The East Warren streetscape project aimed to achieve a beautiful corridor where neighborhood businesses can thrive and where people feel safe and welcomed. The improvements also designed to support all modes of transportation, including walking, biking, transit use, and driving. There project introduced several key improvements including:
+ Landscaping: Improved landscaping contributes to a more attractive streetscape.
+ Enhanced Safety and Comfort: Improved traffic calming measures and safer street crossings, and additional street lighting.
+ Upgraded Infrastructure: New sidewalks, pavement, and ADA-compliant curb ramps.
+ Consideration of other modes of Transportation: added protected bike lanes, and improved bus stops.
