On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at approximately 7:25 a.m., in the area of E. 8 mile and Mt. Elliot, the suspect walked up to the 24-year-old male victim, while on a DDOT bus, and fired a shot striking the victim in the body, then fled on foot. The suspect’s weapon and backpack were recovered.

The victim is being treated at a local hospital for his injury.
