What We've Been Up To....
You may have noticed things have slowed down a bit on the ZoneDetroit project. Due to COVID-19 with stay home orders in place in Detroit and around the Country, the project schedule has been significantly impacted.
Rest assured that we have been working hard in the background to try and keep this project moving along.
- In January, we asked the City Planning Commission to consider a bolder approach to reducing or eliminating parking requirements throughout the City.
- In March, we released the final version of the Zoning Analytic.
- In April, we prepared a draft outline of the new Detroit Zoning Districts.
We have also put together a new project timeline that we hope to be able to meet in these unprecedented times. We hope to be able to post draft material for you to review on this website at regular times throughout the next year or so.
What's Happening Next...

September to October – Draft Development Standards (new parking, lighting and landscape requirements as well as new pedestrian and vehicle access standards)
