O'Hair Park is one of Detroit's largest parks, at 78 acres the park features active sports fields and courts, picnic facilities as well as walking paths and the Pitcher Woods nature trails and interpretive signs. The park is in the heart of a northwest Detroit neighborhood named for the Park.
The City of Detroit Parks and Recreation Division (DPRD) is applying for a Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant to fund improvements at O'Hair Park and we would love to have you join us at our informational meeting! Our priority for the grant is to improve the woodland trail system. We are in the early stages of planning, and this is an opportunity to learn about the grant and discuss opportunities and needs for the park and trails. Grant awards will be announced at the end of the year. There will also be community meetings held throughout 2026 to discuss what amenities and improvements are wanted in O'Hair Park as part of the master plan process!
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 3, at 5 p.m. in the Workshop at Crowell Recreation Center which is located at 16630 Lahser Road.
