How Should Detroit handle Short-Term Rentals?

  • Learn about AirBnb's policies & public safety efforts
  • Discuss the proposed Short-Term Rental Ordinance
  • Ask questions directly to AirBnb reps & your City Councilmember

Short-term rental means the rental of a building or structure, or any part thereof, as lodging accommodations for a term of 27 consecutive days or less, but does not include a stay at any bed and breakfast inn, hotel, motel, non-profit single-room occupancy housing, public lodging house, rooming house, or hostel licensed under Chapter 36 of this Code, Public Lodging

Why this matters? This is a chance to listen to the personal stories of our neighbors who run AirBnbs, explore their economic influence in Detroit, and comprehend how AirBnbs collaborate with law enforcement and the Detroit Police Department (DPD). Additionally, you'll gain insights into the short-term rental landscape in Detroit and discover more about the proposed short-term rental ordinance.
