The Detroit Police Department is seeking assistance for a non-fatal shooting that occurred at Joy and American on July 5, 2025 at around 12:10 a.m. The victim (male in his 40s) was with his disabled vehicle awaiting a tow, when an unknown suspect male, described as light skin, mid 20s, approximately 5’6”, and medium build wearing a white t-shirt and green reflective vest approached him on a mini-bike offering to help. The victim stated that he told the suspect male that he didn’t need any assistance, at which time the suspect became irate and produced a firearm, firing multiple shots and non-fatally injuring the victim.
