Detroiters will receive results via text within 24 hours. Testing is available by appointment only, to people who live or work in the City of Detroit, by calling 313-230-0505.

“We are extending hours at the Joseph Walker Williams test site over the holidays, and increasing our supply of rapid test kits, in order to help Detroiters stay safe during the holidays,” said Chief Public Health Officer Denise Fair Razo. “I am urging everyone to get tested before they gather, whether or not they have been vaccinated, especially if they plan to celebrate with anyone who may be at risk of developing severe complications from COVID-19.”

The Detroit Health Department recommends the following to stay safe from COVID-19:

  • Everyone who is eligible (ages 5+) should get vaccinated and get a booster dose if they are due. First, second and booster doses are available at all locations (walk-ins welcome). Text (313) 217-3732 to find nearest locations. Extended-hour and Saturday sites. Call 313-230-0505
  • Observe COVID-19 safety protocols, including social distancing, wearing a mask at large indoor gatherings with people who may not be vaccinated, washing hands

The Detroit Health Department is planning vaccination events geared especially for school-age children, including a Super Hero-themed vaccination event on Wednesday, December 29th, at both pediatric locations (100 Mack and NWAC), and school sites in partnership with Detroit Public School Community District.
