- Day Camp Registration Round Up at Williams Recreation Center June 8
If you’re a parent and looking for a summer day camp for your child, Detroit Parks & Recreation has a number of day camps for you.
The City of Detroit is now accepting registrations for its 2019 Summer Day Camps. Day camps will operate Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from June 24 – August 16 at 10 Detroit recreation centers. Children ages 6 – 12 years old can enjoy a summer filled with arts & crafts, outdoor adventure, fitness activities and field trips. Adams/Butzel, Clemente, Heilmann and Young are also offering an Early Exposure program option for ages 3 – 5.
“The Department is pleased to offer a variety of affordable day camp opportunities for all children. Because we realize that even $425 may be difficult for some of our participants, especially those with multiple children in the home needing the day camp experience, we will work with families on payment plans prior to the start of camp,” said Deputy Director JJ Velez.
The total cost for the 8-week program is $425 for Detroit residents and $475 for non-residents. There is a multiple child discount available for three or more children in the same household. Registrations are accepted at the recreation centers during normal hours of operation or at Day Camp Registration Round Up, Saturday, June 8 from 10 am – 2 pm at Williams Recreation Center located at 8431 Rosa Parks Blvd.
Payment may be made by cashier’s check or money order, no personal checks or cash accepted. Deadline for registration is June 10, 2019. For more information, call (313) 224-1100.
