Detroit City Clerk to hold news conference to outline upcoming Aug. 4 primary election
Detroit City Clerk Janice M. Winfrey will discuss election preparations, absentee voting and safety protocols for in-person voting for the Aug. 4 primary election at a news conference on Thursday, July 30 at 11 a.m. As a result of safety protocols, the news conference is limited to 10 media outlets and media representatives must RSVP.
The news conference will be preceded by an accuracy test at 9:30 a.m. demonstrating the operation of voting machines to the public, and representatives from political parties, various interest groups and organizations.
The news conference will take place at the Department of Elections, 2978 West Grand Blvd, in the third floor Assembly Room. To RSVP, contact Michelle Collins at (313) 876-0880.
