Airport Task Force

The Detroit City Council Airport Task Force, spearheading the resurgence of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Airport

The Detroit City Council Airport Task Force has been organized to support the revitalization of the airport through improvements to existing aviation, educational opportunities, and the identification of economic developments that will bolster the airport’s surrounding community and the city of Detroit as a whole.

With the potential to become an economic engine - supporting workforce development and business commerce, the city possesses a valuable asset in The Coleman A. Young Municipal Airport (DET).

The Detroit City Council Task Force advocates for DET through the development of robust and practical data that both informs and enables management of the airport to operate toward long-term goals on the basis of analytical benchmarks.

The Detroit City Council Airport Task Force meets monthly on the second Wednesday of each month.
