City Planning Commission Meeting
On Thursday, August 6, 2020,
the Detroit City Planning Commission
will hold three public hearings to consider proposed rezonings.
At 5:15pm, the request of Brian Hurttienne, to rezone 1552, 1558, 1564, 1570 Perry Street
from R1 (Single-Family Residential District) to R3 (Low Density Residential District).
The petitioner is proposing to develop a multiple-family dwelling.
At 6:00pm, the request of PrimeSpace Capital LLC to rezone 15401 West Grand River Avenue
from B3 (Shopping District) to B4 (General Business District). The proposed map amendment
is being requested to develop the vacant commercial space into a self-storage facility/public
storage house with two retail units on the ground floor facing West Grand River Avenue.
At 6:45pm, the request of Emily H. Peterson to rezone 1920 Atkinson Avenue from R1
(Single-family Residential District) to SD1 (Special Development District – Small-Scale,
Mixed-Use). The proposal is to convert the existing building to a restaurant with a residential unit above.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order (EO 2020-21) went into effect on March 24, 2020. Therefore, the Detroit City Planning Commission (CPC) will be meeting virtually using video conferencing software in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This action is being taken in accordance with Governor Whitmer's Executive Order 2020-15, which allows electronic meetings for public bodies.
