11/21/2014 - Individuals coming downtown for the Thanksgiving races, parade and the Lions Game can ride The Detroit People Mover (DPM) free from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The free rides are courtesy of Michelin North America, Inc. People Mover passengers should note that the Grand Circus Park Station is currently closed for renovation. People Mover service will return to its regular schedule on Friday, November 28.

10/13/2014 - In an effort to demonstrate the importance of smoke alarms and fire sprinkler systems, the Detroit Fire Department, in partnership with the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) and Local 704, Sprinkler Fitters Union, will conduct a live burn on Monday, November 17, at 9 a.m. at Engine 27, located at 4700 W. Fort St. The media is invited to shoot footage of the burn demonstration.
