Mayor Duggan to Make Final Push for Affordable Care Enrollment

With only just over a week remaining until the Affordable Care Act enrollment deadline of February 15, Mayor Mike Duggan is urging Detroiters to attend local enrollment events to sign up for affordable health insurance. This effort is part of the Mayor’s commitment to get residents enrolled under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) by the deadline to make sure they have access to affordable health care.

The City of Detroit is committed to making sure that all 1884 miles of residential streets are plowed with at least a 10-foot path. In addition to verifying contractors’ work through visual inspections and GPS data, citizens are being provided two options for reporting unplowed streets.

City of Detroit Winter Storm Update - Feb. 3

Trash Collection Resumes Today With the majority of residential streets now plowed, the City’s trash collection contractors have resumed trash collection today. The City will operate on a holiday trash collection schedule this week, meaning it will pick up residents’ containers one day after their normal collection date.

Most Detroit Homeowners to See Property Assessment Reductions This Summer

Detroit, in partnership with the City of Detroit, and Score7 Charitable Fund (Matthew Stafford’s Charitable Foundation), today revealed plans for a unique new Academics and Sports Program, called the S.A.Y. Detroit Play Center (Sports, Academics, Youth) reclaiming an abandoned recreation center in Lipke Park, that was closed in 2014 due to city budget cuts.
