If you want to live or work in Detroit, there are opportunities for you!!
Walking into Redesign and Restoration is a unique experience. The captivating home decor pieces are stunning and leave you wondering, “Who designed these pieces”?
Lisa Milton realized she was interested in home and interior design from being a stay at home mom for 13 years and has been in business for herself for five years. Lisa moved to Detroit from Canada 14 years ago and now she describes Detroit as being a great place to start a business.
“I think Detroit is moving in the right direction and I hope it continues to move forward in this direction. The business community here is very supportive and there are a lot of resources that are available for us because of programs like SWOT and Prosperous Detroit. I am happy to call it home. ”
The idea of starting her own business came from watching a Halle Berry interview. In the interview Berry said that women need to create their own way and make a lane for themselves. Lisa took that to heart and turned her passion into a successful business. Lisa says that because she figured no one would give her an opportunity because she did not go to design school, nor did she have any experience, she thought she would give herself a chance.
Redesign and Restoration is located in District 4 on East Jefferson and pieces are also available for purchase online. Redesign and Restoration focuses on interior design at an affordable price.
